Symptom and Pain Management

Effective symptom control is central to palliative care. Our nurses work closely with the care team to manage pain, breathlessness, nausea, and other distressing symptoms, ensuring the client remains as comfortable as possible.

Relief, comfort, and calm.

Medication and Care Coordination

Palliative medications require careful administration and monitoring. Our nurses manage complex medication regimens, liaise with physicians and specialists, and ensure care plans are followed with precision and compassion.

The right care, at the right time.

Emotional and Spiritual Support

Serious illness affects the whole person. Our nurses provide a calm, compassionate presence, support meaningful conversations, and help families navigate the emotional and practical dimensions of end-of-life care.

Present, patient, and kind.
What We Provide

Specialist palliative care built around comfort and dignity.

Pain Relief and Comfort Care
SYMPTOM MANAGEMENT

Pain Relief and Comfort Care

Uncontrolled pain and distressing symptoms significantly reduce quality of life. Our nurses are trained in palliative symptom management, working alongside the medical team to ensure medications are effective, side effects are monitored, and comfort is maintained throughout.

Comfort as the priority, always.

Personal Care with Compassion
PERSONAL CARE & DIGNITY

Personal Care with Compassion

Maintaining personal hygiene, comfort, and dignity becomes increasingly important as illness progresses. Our nurses provide skilled, respectful personal care — bathing, repositioning, oral hygiene, and skin integrity — with sensitivity to the client's wishes and values.

Dignity in every moment of care.

Family Guidance and Emotional Presence
FAMILY & EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

Family Guidance and Emotional Presence

Families carry an enormous emotional burden during serious illness. Our nurses provide honest, compassionate communication, practical guidance on what to expect, and a steady presence that helps families feel supported and less alone through this journey.

Learn about our family support approach

Individuals who receive structured in-home palliative nursing care experience better symptom control, fewer unnecessary hospitalisations, and greater ability to remain in their preferred place of care — at home, surrounded by family.

Family caregivers supported by professional palliative nurses report significantly reduced anxiety, greater confidence in managing symptoms, and a stronger sense of peace during one of life's most difficult transitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our Palliative & Serious Illness Care service in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Our palliative care service includes symptom and pain management, personal care with dignity, medication administration and monitoring, emotional and spiritual support, family guidance and education, comfort positioning, nutrition and hydration support, and coordination with the broader care team including physicians, hospice, and specialists.

Yes. Our palliative care nurses receive specialised training in symptom management, pain assessment, comfort care techniques, end-of-life care, and family communication. They are experienced in working with individuals living with cancer, heart failure, neurological conditions, and other serious illnesses.

Absolutely. Palliative care is appropriate from the point of diagnosis of a serious illness, not just at end of life. Early palliative care can improve quality of life, reduce symptom burden, and support better decision-making throughout the illness journey.

Our nurses work closely with the prescribing physician and specialist team to administer and monitor pain medications, assess symptom control, and communicate any changes in the client's condition. We use evidence-based comfort care approaches and ensure medications are given on schedule and adjusted as needed.

Yes. We offer flexible scheduling including daytime visits, overnight care, and 24-hour live-in support. Overnight and continuous care is particularly important for clients in the final stages of illness, ensuring a skilled nurse is present to manage symptoms and support the family.

Whenever possible, we assign a consistent nurse or small team to build familiarity and trust with the client and family. Consistency is especially important in palliative care, where the relationship between nurse, client, and family is central to the quality of care.

We provide palliative and serious illness care across the Greater Toronto Area including Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Mississauga, Brampton, and Etobicoke. Contact us to confirm availability for your specific location.

We recommend booking at least 24 to 48 hours in advance to ensure the most suitable nurse is matched and briefed. For urgent situations, please contact us directly and we will make every effort to arrange same-day or next-day support.

Private in-home palliative nursing care is not covered by OHIP. We provide itemised receipts that may be submitted to your Health Spending Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or private long-term care insurance. Please verify eligibility directly with your insurer.

Book through our online form or contact us directly to schedule a free initial assessment. We will visit your home, assess the client's current condition and comfort needs, review the care plan from the medical team, and develop a personalised palliative care plan with your family's input.
