Surgery doesn't end in the operating room. The first week home is where complications emerge, medications get confused, and recovery stalls or succeeds. Our registered nurses are there to make sure it goes right.

Each care package is designed around your surgical recovery window, not a timer. You get structured nursing support at the right moments without counting minutes.
From pain monitoring to mobility assistance to medication guidance, we cover both the clinical signs and the everyday challenges that most families are not prepared for.
Recovery education is built into every visit. Your family understands when things are normal, when to act, and exactly who to call.
Pain, mobility, and wound status are the three areas where early problems develop, and where a registered nurse's eyes make the biggest difference in the week following surgery.
Structured pain level assessment at every visit
Monitoring for swelling, localised heat, and fever
Safe techniques for getting in and out of bed post-operatively
Walking assessment and assistance with early ambulation
Visual inspection of the surgical site at every visit
Monitoring for redness, discharge, or unusual swelling
Beyond the clinical essentials, recovery depends on understanding your medications, managing basic daily needs, and knowing what to expect. Our nurses cover all of this at every visit.

Post-surgical medications are often confusing: multiple prescriptions, unfamiliar names, overlapping timing. We make it clear.
Plain-language explanation of each medication's purpose
Pain medication and antibiotic timing guidance
Side effect recognition: what is normal vs. concerning
Your family leaves every visit knowing exactly what each medication does and when to take it.

Basic hygiene and positioning during early recovery are harder than most people anticipate. We provide practical support without making it feel clinical.
Basic hygiene assistance adapted to surgical restrictions
Repositioning support to prevent pressure injuries
Comfort adjustments for rest and sleep positioning
Dignity and safety, both, from day one of coming home.

The questions families ask most often are the ones no one thought to answer at the hospital. We cover all of them, clearly.
When it is safe to shower or bathe after surgery
When activity levels can be gradually increased
Dietary guidance specific to your surgical procedure
Confidence replaces guesswork before you need it most.
Most post-surgical complications occur in the first 7 days at home, not in the hospital. Pain mismanagement, immobility, and missed wound changes are the leading causes.
Patients with structured nursing follow-up after surgery report significantly higher confidence in their recovery and lower rates of avoidable emergency visits in the 30 days post-discharge.
Recovery looks different depending on the procedure, the person, and the home environment. These are the situations where professional nursing support makes the most meaningful difference.
Simple from the start. Designed for families who have enough to think about already.
Browse our recovery packages and select the one that matches your procedure and expected recovery window. Not sure which fits? Reach out and we'll advise.
A registered nurse reviews your discharge summary, medications, and home setup. We confirm timing, special considerations, and what to prepare before the first visit.
Your nurse arrives at home, typically within 24 to 48 hours of discharge. Each visit is structured, documented, and tailored to where you are in the recovery process.
After every visit, you receive a written summary of findings, next steps, and anything to watch for. No guesswork. No wondering if things are normal.

No. Wound care involves active dressing changes and clinical treatment of the wound itself. That is managed by your surgical team. Our nurses observe the wound site for early signs of complication and escalate appropriately. We are your eyes between surgical appointments, not a replacement for your surgeon.
Our post-surgery service is structured around care packages because single visits rarely reflect the actual shape of surgical recovery. That said, if your situation is specific and a single visit makes sense, contact us and we'll discuss what works best.
We support recovery from orthopaedic procedures (hip, knee, spine), cardiac and chest surgery, abdominal and laparoscopic procedures, and general surgical cases. If you are unsure whether your procedure is covered, contact us and we will advise.
We prioritise continuity of care. Wherever scheduling allows, the same registered nurse handles all visits within your package. This ensures clinical consistency and means you are not re-explaining your situation each time.
Our nurses are trained to assess and triage. If something requires immediate attention, we will advise on the appropriate course of action, contact your surgical team directly if needed, and can accompany you to the emergency department if the situation warrants it.
Yes. After every visit, a concise written summary is shared with you and any designated family contact. It covers clinical findings, medications reviewed, anything flagged as unusual, and guidance for the days ahead.
This service is not covered by OHIP. Many extended health benefit plans and health spending accounts (HSA) may cover registered nursing home visits. We provide itemised receipts for all visits. Confirm eligibility directly with your benefits provider.
For planned surgical procedures, we recommend booking in advance so the first visit can be scheduled within 24 hours of discharge. For urgent or unplanned requests, contact us directly and we will accommodate where possible.
Yes. With your consent, we can share visit summaries with your surgeon or primary care provider, flag clinical concerns, and assist with follow-up appointment booking. Continuity with your existing medical team is part of how we operate.
Post-Discharge Care is structured around hospital-to-home transitions for any admission: surgery, cardiac events, infections, falls. Post-Surgery Recovery Care is specifically designed around the clinical needs of the surgical recovery period: pain management, mobility, wound observation, and medication guidance. The two can overlap and we can build a plan that covers both.
