WHAT WE MEASURE

Weight is just a number. What matters is what your body is made of.

Skeletal Muscle Mass

Skeletal Muscle Mass

Measure how much functional muscle your body carries and how it is distributed. Muscle mass supports strength, metabolic health, and long term mobility.

WHY IT MATTERS

Understanding your body composition is about more than appearance. It is about long-term health.

Fall Risk & Mobility

Low muscle mass is a leading risk factor for falls and declining mobility. Identifying muscle loss early allows for preventive action before problems arise.

WHO IS THIS FOR

Designed for anyone who wants clarity beyond the scale.

Body composition assessment is clinically relevant across a wide range of health goals and conditions. If any of the following describes you, this assessment is a meaningful starting point.

Adults Monitoring Metabolic Health

Managing or at risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, or cardiovascular disease. Visceral fat and body fat data provide a more accurate metabolic risk picture than BMI alone.

Older Adults Concerned About Muscle Loss

Gradual muscle loss accelerates after 50. This assessment identifies deficits early, enabling targeted intervention before functional decline or fall risk increases.

Active Individuals & Athletes

Training regularly but looking beyond the scale. Track muscle gain, fat reduction, and segmental balance to optimise performance and recovery.

Post-Surgery or Recovery Patients

Surgery or extended illness can cause significant muscle loss. Regular assessment supports rehabilitation planning and tracks meaningful recovery progress.

Individuals Beginning a Health Program

Establishing a baseline before starting a nutrition or fitness program ensures you measure genuine body composition change, not just water weight fluctuations.

Those with Family History of Chronic Disease

A family history of metabolic or cardiovascular conditions warrants proactive monitoring. Body composition data reveals personal risk well before clinical symptoms appear.

THE DIGITAL REPORT

Your Health Data, Clearly Interpreted

After every assessment, you receive a structured digital report that organizes your health data into clear visuals and practical insights reviewed by registered nurses.

Your Health Dashboard
BODY COMPOSITION

Your Health Dashboard

Your report opens with a clear overview of key metrics including skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, and visceral fat level. Each value is compared with healthy reference ranges so you immediately understand your results.

All key metrics in one view, benchmarked against healthy ranges.

Body Balance & Distribution
SEGMENTAL ANALYSIS

Body Balance & Distribution

See how muscle and fat are distributed across your arms, legs, and trunk. Segmental analysis highlights body balance and identifies asymmetry that may influence posture, strength, and movement.

Pinpoints muscle and fat imbalances across each limb and trunk.

Health Trends Over Time
PROGRESS TRACKING

Health Trends Over Time

Each new assessment is added to your history so you can track changes in muscle mass, body fat, and metabolic indicators. Clear trend charts make long-term health progress easy to follow.

FAQ

Common Questions

A body composition assessment measures the proportion of fat, muscle, water, and bone in your body. Unlike a standard scale, it gives you a detailed breakdown of what your body is actually made of — helping you understand your health far beyond just weight.

InBody uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) — a safe, low-level electrical current passes through your body. Different tissues (fat, muscle, water) resist the current differently, allowing the device to calculate precise body composition values in under 60 seconds.

Your report includes skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat level, segmental muscle and fat analysis (arms, legs, trunk), body water balance, basal metabolic rate, and a personalised health score with actionable recommendations.

The InBody scan itself takes under 60 seconds. Including preparation and a brief consultation with our registered nurse to review your results, the full session is typically 15–20 minutes.

We recommend assessments every 4–8 weeks to meaningfully track changes in muscle mass and body fat. This frequency allows enough time for physiological changes to occur while keeping your progress data current and actionable.

InBody assessments are safe for most people. However, individuals with pacemakers or implanted electronic devices should not use BIA technology. Pregnant women are also advised to consult their physician first. Our registered nurses will screen you before the assessment.
